175 Third Street is a transformative waterfront development in Brooklyn’s Gowanus neighborhood, envisioned as the centerpiece of the emerging Gowanus Wharf district. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), the project introduces a dynamic mixed-use destination comprising over 1 million square feet of residential, retail, and lifestyle programming, organized around a central courtyard and expansive public waterfront esplanade along the Gowanus Canal.

Originally assembled and controlled by RFR, the site was sold in 2025, reflecting the firm’s strategic approach to identifying and unlocking value in high-growth urban neighborhoods. Today, the development stands as one of the largest and most ambitious projects in Gowanus, contributing to the area’s evolution into a vibrant, design-forward residential and commercial hub.
